2025 Samsung TVs: Glare-Free Mini LED, Vision AI, and More
At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2023, Samsung announced its lineup of 2025 TVs, including new glare-free Mini LED models and a range of features powered by its Vision AI technology. Here’s what you need to know:
Glare-Free Mini LED TVs
Samsung is introducing its first-ever glare-free display on the company’s Mini LED “Neo QLED” TVs, including the flagship 4K QN90F and both of this year’s 8K models. This marks a departure from the glossy treatment used on previous Mini LED TVs.
The glare-free display will be available in sizes up to 115 inches for the QN90F, while the (glossy) QN80F can be had at up to 100 inches. Samsung claims that its “Supersize Picture Enhancer” feature will help keep 4K content looking crisp even on these enormous screens.
It’s worth noting that none of these TVs will feature Dolby Vision, a decision the company has made for philosophical reasons.
Vision AI: Samsung’s New AI-Powered Features
Samsung is rebranding its AI-powered TV features under the umbrella of “Vision AI” for 2025. This includes:
- AI Upscaling: enhances video quality by analyzing and upscaling content on the fly.
- Auto HDR Remastering: adjusts HDR settings to optimize picture quality.
- Adaptive Sound Pro: fine-tunes audio settings based on the type of content being watched.
In addition, Vision AI will include new features such as:
- Click to Search: identifies actors, locations, and food featured in a scene with just one click of the SolarCell remote’s AI button.
- Samsung Food: recognizes on-screen food and provides recipes for cooking it.
- Live Translate: instantly translates closed captions on live broadcasts in up to seven languages.
Vision AI will also provide more robust home security features, analyzing video feeds from connected cameras and audio from the TV’s microphone to detect unusual sounds and movements. Alerts and notifications can be sent directly to your phone or displayed on the TV screen.
Samsung is even leveling up Bixby, its voice assistant, which now understands context better and can perform multiple actions simultaneously (e.g., changing channels and raising volume). You can also control your Samsung TV with a Galaxy Watch on your wrist.
The Frame Pro
Samsung is announcing The Frame Pro, a lifestyle TV that you can read more about here.
Pricing for the 2025 Samsung TVs will be announced over the next few months, with shipping set to begin this spring.
